Which is better and good for overclocking:

1. Intel i3 4170

2. Intel i3 6100

3. AMD fx 6300

4. AMD fx 8320

8320 would be the best but an i5-4460 would be better.  You cannot overclock any intel CPU that doesn't have the letter K after the numbers.

not quite. on Z series motherboards you can overclock by 4 multiplier bins, but I believe you have to disable turbo, and on Z170, BCLK is not tied to PCIE clock, so BCLK overclocking is useful again

The FX series is excellent for overclocks,and not drastically expensive too!But,if you want to go Intel route,i'd say the i3-6100

If you can afford a Skylake i3 with Z170 mobo, do it.

 

If you go AMD and the time comes to upgrade again, you will realize your mistake.

Actually I do think the FX will do good with the DX12 but I do think he should grab a new platform over the 1150 and AM3+... :P
