That mobo/CPU combo is dangerous. It's a 4-phase VRM design with no heatsinks. It's insufficient to power an FX-8 core CPU. Minimum motherboard I would recommend would be a GA-970A-UD3P (and only the UD3P version), and even with that you're going to get sub-par gaming performance unless you ALSO buy an aftermarket cooler like the 212 Evo and overclock it. And even with THAT you'll still get ho-hum performance that's worse than an Intel i5 in most games.

Honestly, you're better off with an i5-4460 and a cheap h81 board.

If the R9 380 is the same price or cheaper as that GTX 960, swap it out for that.

Rest looks fine I guess, but I don't see a model number for that PSU and I'd definitely check that first, and I'd probably get a difference case. The Fractal Design Core 2300, 2500, 3300, or 3500 are my go-to cases for cheap yet good.

heres a build if you're in the US, far far better if you're not in the us, then just swap the store and find another store using about the same parts. use this less as a buy these exact parts from these exact stores, but rather these parts from your local branch

I always double check model numbers. I never trust brands.

I sacrificed some GPU performance to get a huge bump in CPU performance. With the right bios, that motherboard can overclock the i5-6400, and combined with the CM T4 cooler, you can definitely reach some good overclocks. I had to drop from a GTX 960 to a GTX 950, but honestly that's a tradeoff I'd gladly make since the two are fairly close in performance, and the first item to get replaced in a build is the GPU anyway. This platform would last you way, way longer than the FX in your original build that would likely kill the motherboard or suffer massive throttling problems.

@Lotus

SeaSonic makes there own PSUs. They are all good, just like how every SuperFlower is good, just like every Delta PSU is good, just like FirePower.
