I purchased a Gigabyte Z97-HD3 from Newegg, only to have it fail exactly a week later.  I requested a replacement the day it failed, and just received the new one today.  This one is DOA.  When the other board failed, it wouldn't post, but was stuck in a boot loop.  This one also wont post, but it wont even restart.  It powers on when I hit the power button, then powers off about 1 second later.

Here's my original post about the first board: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/502501-need-help-gigabyte-mobo-stuck-in-boot-loop/#entry6774369

READ THAT POST TO SEE HOW I WORKED OUT IT WAS EITHER THE MOTHERBOARD OR THE CPU

I don't think it's the cpu especially considering that despite the fact that these are the exact same board, they are experiencing different issues.  Unfortunately, I don't have a speaker for POST codes.  I'm currently on hold with newegg.  I'd like to replace this board with a board from a completely different company (looking at ASUS and MSI)

Here's the two I'm looking at:

I've been without a desktop for just shy of a month and I am NOT happy.  This is the 3rd Gigabyte board I've had, all of which have failed.  I don't think I'll ever be buying another Gigabyte product.

What ATX lga1150 boards would you guys recommend? Black and white/grey are preferable

Of the two I linked, I'm leaning towards the ASUS as with the rebate, it will be the same price as what I paid for the Gigabyte (Black Friday)

Yes, I sent Gigabyte a email via support, and stated that I will be looking at boards from other manufacturers, hopefully that'll get them on edge.

MSI and evga. This is why I went for advanced replacement.. They still haven't finished processing the dead board. I have now sold and replaced the replacement.

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.
