Looking for a smartphone around 100$ in USA

GamerGuy

As the title says I am looking to buy a smartphone sometime this week that will offer me a good overall experience, I will be using it mainly for taking pictures and videos and sometimes play a few games here and there.

A big issue I had with phones was overtime some phones get very laggy... Then i would be happy to know if there is a phone out there for around 100 dollars that offers the things i need in a phone.

Sorry for my poor grammar and thanks so much for your help! :D

100$ smartphone, that doesn't exist, or do you mean with a 3 year contract

In the US, $100 smartphones exist with a 2 year contract. 3 years is outrageous.

Desktop: Intel i5-3570K (stock) | Asus Sabertooth Z77 | G.Skill RipJaw 16GB 1600MHz | Samsung 840 120GB | EVGA GTX 680 SC+ 2GB | Fractal Design R4 | Windows 8 Pro (soon to have dual boot Mac OS X)

Retina Macbook Pro : Intel i7-3840QM | 16GB 1600 MHz | 256GB SSD | Nvidia GT 650M 1GB | Mac OS X 10.8.5

The reason your phone is laggy because you are buying smartphones for 100$. Such things exist but they are really cheaply made, and their inner stuff is really bad.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

Check out Google Nexus 4. Best budget/high-end phone, lowest I would ever go, it's reasonably priced AND it offers a whole lot of stuff for the price including speedy processor.

Or you could wait for the next Google Nexus phone (this year there should be another edition as well) and first see how much it costs.

I meant with a contract, here in Canada we have terrible service providers, you have to get 3 years or you don't get a deal on your phone

The nexus 4 is actually over 300$ :(http://www.amazon.com/LG-Unlocked-International-Version-Warranty/dp/B00A9ZER46/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1377903336&sr=1-1&keywords=google+nexus+4 )

i don't have it personally, but everyone i've heard from that have it love it. The phone probably won't get as slow since you get pure android that won't get bogged down with the crap most vendors add to it and the cpu is pretty good. The camera is probably better than others in that price range, but isn't amazing.

Wrong place  ;) https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=nexus_4_8gb&hl=en

Funny because in Poland it's similiar.

But here 500$ is an average monthly wage so...

And the Nexus 4 from local stores is 500$+. Lmao. It's only slightly (400$) cheaper on Polish re-sale sites (kinda like ebay).

I hate Europe. And I hate Poland. Eastern wages, western prices. And f-ed up government who try to keep us, citizens, calm and tax-paying.

Google Play is not available here. AND I THINK I KNOW WHY, I DOUBT GOOGLE WOULD PAY OUR 30% TAXES + $ to € EXCHANGE FOR US...

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

Nokia Lumia 520 runs Windows Phone 8, and I haven't heard anybody complaining about lag or slowdowns on hardware as low as the 520. Windows Phone also offers a great overall experience.

You can get a Lumia 520 off-contract for $100...

Wrong, price is dictated by demand not by quality (not saying quality doesn't affect demand of a product, but pricing is going to go off what people are willing to pay for a product not what it's worth)

Go to wirefly.  With a 2 year contract you can get an S4 for about 130 bucks.  I know because I just did this 3 weeks ago.

I can vouch, my father has one after trading up from an old Windows phone 7 device he couldn't stand and couln't get an upgrade just yet, It's just as smooth as my 820, WP8 runs pretty seamlessly on most specs. Not to mention compatibility with  xbox (if you were interested.).
