4K 60FPS Game development rig final check

MegaMiley

Hello,

For work there's a game project coming up which I'm going to be working on but we don't yet have a rig that can create and play high end games so we're going to invest into a rig which will help us create the games and stay at the top of the line for quite a while.

The rig should be able to handle pretty much any modern game like Far Cry 4, Just Cause 3, GTA V and such at ultra settings at 60FPS+ on a 4K resolution

The current setup is as follows

Intel® Core i7-5820K 3,3 GHz (3,6 GHz Turbo Boost) socket 2011-3 processor at €439,00

2 x Corsair 16 GB DDR4-2133 Kit at €197,80

2 x MSI GTX 980Ti 6GD5 V1 at €1438,00

ASRock Fatal1ty X99X Killer, socket 2011-3 motherboard at €259,00

ADATA Premier Pro SP900, 512 GB SSD at €182,90

Seagate Barracuda 7200.14, 2 TB HDD at €69,90

Be quiet! Dark Power Pro 11 1000W PSU at €254,00

Be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3, CPU-cooler at €84,90

X2 6019, case at €99,90

Philips 28" 4K Ultra HD Monitor Brilliance 4K UHD 288P6LJEB/00 at €449,00

ASUS DRW-24F1MT, DVD-burner at €19,99

The total cost of this build including taxes is currently €3494,39 (the budget is obviously high, it's an investment for the next 3-4 years to come the way that I'm designing it but it's a drop in the bucket compared to the potential projects we're going to get out of it)

The build will be bought in The Netherlands, I've already a topic on Reddit about an earlier version of this build and after a couple changes this is what came out. Are there any more improvements that can be incorporated into this build? The keyboard, mouse and headset will be bought seperatly in a store (I'm the one who will be working with this machine so I want to make sure I get something I like the feeling of)

One thing as well is that I might need a different case, the main concern here is security because a few months back we had a break-in in our office and we can't afford this machine to be stolen obviously, what case would be recommended for this? Alternate didn't show a lot of options in terms of cases and we'd like one with something like a kingston lock support or something similar/better.

Also on the 4K screen, I'm not to familiar with 4K as it is and I'd like to know if I made the right choice or if there's maybe a better/cheaper screen out there (easily available in the Netherlands).

Greets,

Miley

First update:

As per the advice of The_Stig I replaced one of the GPU's with a hybrid GPU which has water cooling build in and this will become the main GPU (bought through a separate vendor, Alternate doesn't supply this GPU)

Intel® Core i7-5820K 3,3 GHz (3,6 GHz Turbo Boost) socket 2011-3 processor at €439,00

2 x Corsair 16 GB DDR4-2133 Kit at €197,80

MSI GTX 980Ti SEA HAWK NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB at €853,50

MSI GTX 980Ti 6GD5 V1 at €719,00

ASRock Fatal1ty X99X Killer, socket 2011-3 motherboard at €259,00

ADATA Premier Pro SP900, 512 GB SSD at €182,90

This will make the total price €3628,89

Second update:

I went on a search for cheaper prices for the same hardware and I was able to save €183,78 by using different websites

Intel® Core i7-5820K 3,3 GHz  (3,6 GHz Turbo Boost) socket 2011-3 processor at €419,80

2 x Corsair 16 GB DDR4-2133 Kit at €159,80

MSI GTX 980Ti SEA HAWK NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB at €853,50

MSI GTX 980Ti 6GD5 V1 at €684,00

ASRock Fatal1ty X99X Killer, socket 2011-3 motherboard at €259,00

ADATA Premier Pro SP900, 512 GB SSD at €182,90

Seagate Barracuda 7200.14, 2 TB HDD at €69,90

Be quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 1000W PSU at €229,00

Be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3, CPU-cooler at €78,90

X2 6019, case at €99,90

AOC u2868Pqu 28" Zwart 4K Ultra HD at €388,42

Looks good but take a look into a hybrid card (Like gigabytes waterforce, EVGA's Hybrid, and MSI's Seahawk) for the top card in the SLI configuration. It will run far cooler than a normal card thanks to watercooling, allowing you to OC more and prevent thermal throttling.

Ok so only the first GPU should be water cooled and the second GPU can just remain air cooled you're saying? I'll check if Alternate has any of those (otherwise I'll just get it seperatly)

I've updated the build to incorporate a MSI Seahawk hybrid card

Yeah, the bottom card will be fine. Just the other day someone was complaining that his top card was thermal throttling in his 980ti SLI. It can also be helped by a fan on the side window, but not too man cases have fan on thier side window nowadays
