Because an adapter  like that would kill components?

Because people are smart enough not to sell you a means of lighting yourself on fire?

It's a 6+2. The outer two pins are on a separate block you can fold back to use it as a 6pin.

he meant female 6 pin

Looks like a 6 pin to me, and says it's a 6 pin female so if it's not then somethings awry.

Both sides need to be female.

So your current power supply only has 1 x 6 pin pci-e connector ?

It would be safer to use a complex psu to molex to whatever to pins adapter than your current 6 to 12.
At least you are not forcing a theoretical double amount of the current through one hole.

You might as well just put your PC in The Toaster

So lemme get this straight. You're using a molex to 6 pin, that six pin to dual 6 pin, that's a max of 150 watts to the GPU, that's coming from one or two molex. Good luck!

No no no. I am using a six pin, to two six pins. To use my 220w psu to power my hd 6950. All this is being done for a pic-e adapter.

Right but that would be a female to 2 male unless you have the strangest GPU I've ever seen.
