i have a fan splitter [this one ]( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812423165) and ill only have 2 fans running off it.

should i use the Molex to split them. so plug in the molex for power then plug the fans in the splitter.

or

use the PWM to split them, use the PWM header for the power.

i know using molxed will make them run full speed but i have [this] (https://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-a78me) motherboard

is there any negatives of using the PWM header for the power to split them?

that kit allows you to use the PSU direct power (instead of using the mobo)

so if you have high draw fans, the mobo won't struggle to start them.

using the molex is power, the fan header controls the fan speed via mobo

control (UEFI), so really not a either or issue. they will only run 100% when

you do not connect the mobo header, no UEFI control directive, or faulty

mobo connection.

It will only work on 4 pin PWM fans but yes you need to plug in both the molex which provides the 12V power and the 4 pin connector for PWM control signal, there are also Hubs like this from swiftech which do the same thing where it take 12V power seperately:

so will they run at 100% or not because of the PWM input?

If you run 3 pin fans on it then they will run at 100% since it's getting straight 12V, for 3 pin it needs DC voltage control, for 4 pin PWM fans they will work based on the PWM signal from the motherboard header with that splitter.

If you want to lower the fan speed for silence you can get inline resistors or a fan controller for 3 pin fans like the NZXT Grid+
