Microsoft Xbox360 wireless adapter for mac?

I have a Xbox 360 wireless adapter to connect my xbox 360 controllers to my desktop. Can I use that on my macbook? I plugged it into the macbook, and the light turned on, the controller connected (I think) but its not working when I play a game like castle crashers (which has and recommends the use of a controller).
