7 days without cpu cooler?

Hey guys i have i7 6700k cpu.

I have ordered all my parts and they have arrived already except for the cpu cooler (phanteks air cooler).

I have a extra fan which i hooked onto the cpu fan header and the cpu temperature is running at 89 degrees Celsius without the heatstink & thermale paste etc ...

My questions is:  Can i use my pc like this for 7 days at that temperature?  (simple web browsing/multi tasking microsoft word etc...)

Will anything happen if i do?

Thanks

No, don't use your computer without a proper heatsink of some sort on it.

I think the limit is about 100 before it dies. 80-90 will reduce it's lifespan heavily. 7 days MAY be fine. Are you sure a friend hasn't got a spare stock cooler?

Sadly no, and what sucks even more is the i7 6700k doesn't come with a stock cooler.

Dont turn on your PC without a heatsink. You will risk permanent damage to your CPU

I used it like this for an hour.

Am i screwed?

I had a stupid moment doing my build log, I dropped the cpu in the motherboard for safe keeping and forgot. Had it sat in there booted it up to do some phots with the fans running and forgot it was in there (no Heatsink). It heated up throttled and shut down. I put my finger on it after to check and OWWWW

turns out it was fine but I was lucky

If it's still working you're fine, but I wouldn't use it any more.

I have this techy guy who helps me do my builds, and he said to me (when building my new desktop), "could've shaved a couple quid off by going OEM." And to that I obviously pointed out situations like this. If my Kraken fails, I've got the stock left over to just switch out within about tenty minutes if less.

Never buy OEM if you have the money to spend.

easy, get a big container fill wit water and put your mobo and gpu in there and fill with ice water and run ur pc then OC to 10.01ghz and win some money

Good luck

But to the point no dont i wouldn't even run my PC without a cooler for 1 minute. DOnt risk it, even with the stock intel cooler ON i get like 90c when gaming to imagine no cooler

Was just about to throw a brick at you and say "Why don't you just use the stock color it comes with till your cpu cooler arrives?".

And then I read that... shame on Intel, those stock coolers were awesome temporary solutions :(

Don't risk damaging your cpu for a few days of waiting, just not worth it. Try to hold it out until your cooler arrives, you can do it!
