LEDs under motherboard... Problem?

It  shouldn't have any problems as long as your standoff's are tall enough and being the waterproof LED's it will protect itself and the motherboard solder point form making contact. Double check to make sure the connection point of the LED's and wires are solid and nothing is pushing against them which may cause a bad connection with one of the 4 pins.

Hello community!

I`m currently rebuilding my system, taking my sweet ass time with it. Also... I`m trying to put, as the title suggests, some leds under the motherboard.

The LEDs are: Aquacomputer RGB LED strip, IP65, black , coupled with Aquacomputer farbwerk USB, aquabus version.

If everything is isolated properly, should this be a problem? Because this STRANGE thing happened.

I put the leds in their position, tested, everything worked fine.. great! So then I proceeded to install the mobo, and then tested the leds again, and I found out that 3 leds(the other leds from the strip were fine) were not displaying RED.. hmm.. interesting. So I powered down the leds(I`m using a separate power suply to test stuff), removed the motherboard to check things, but everything was working well. I did install the mobo again and low and behold, the three leds were not displaying red again, so I did remove the screws one by one, and discovered that by unscrewing one at the top just a little bit, made the leds work again.

During all this, the motherboard was unpowered.

My question is.. What the h happened? I don`t see pressure on the leds, nothing that I see interferes with them, as far as I can tell.  Am I putting my mobo in danger of having leds below it?

If anyone would care to read/take a look, I would be grateful.

Take care,

Alex

p.s. This is happening under a x99-deluxe, at the top part of it.

Thank you @W-L !

Yes, indeed it was a connector problem, and it`s now resolved. But I half made this post just to make sure it was 100% safe as well, so thanks in that regard too!

Take care,

Alex
