CSGO- Been playing it for a while, and the most recent updates have been starting to bug me. They rolled back the rifle and pistol patches (Great), the hitboxes a few months ago (great), but the ranking system is trashed. It makes sense that they adjust the ranking system, but they overcompensated. I was rank LE, after ten wins (queued against LEMs) I expected a rank up and got none. But after those wins, a single loss dropped me down a rank. After another 7 wins, a single loss dropped my rank and so on. Somehow an LE player is now MG1? I shouldn't be queued with people I carry and against people who are obviously less familiar with the game than me. Its not fun without a challenge and its not fair to them. Im tempted to find another game until an update fixes it. Anyone else agree? Disagree? /rant over

The way CS:GO does ranks is by a invisible point system.

 

If you have more points than the opponent, you lose alot of it if you lose.

 

Likewise, if you have almost identical amount of point to the dude, and you are a few points from ranking up, beating them will not make much difference.

My main deranked from DMG to MGE but my skill level is DMG-LE, 6 win streak and 1 loss i deranked.

 

Alt now MG1...

 

My new account i have not lost a single game in placement matches, won last match vs DMG/LE.

Well, time will fix it, I suppose. As everyone slowly readjusts to the new rankings, the lower skill levels will actually start moving into the lower skilled ranks. I was gold nova master but recent updates pushed me down to gold nova 2.

I won 9 games in a row as an LE, 2 with a ton of Supremes. I did not rank up. Right now it's like this for me:

-30 bomb

-Terrible loss but still in first place, far better than my team

Are you carrying all of those players? That would most certainly rank you up.

 

Recently, Valve has been changing matchmaking behind the scenes. It's actually everybody that has gotten the "I lost one game and deranked" thing, but only for one rank. It's so that they can artificially lower the game's ranks, then try to balance ranks like Global Elite. There were too little people in Silver, and way too many people in MG.

 

I've only deranked once, but it's been very difficult ranking back up.

From the video I watched talking about it basically every one should be dropping along with you. Basically just shifting the ranks not changing who you are playing against skill wise. If that is really the case I have no idea I have not played a comp game in about a year.

Well one thing i am sure of is that SMFC to GE has like a 10win 1lose ratio.
