Best place to buy used hardware

whats the best trustworthy place to buy used hardware? Im looking specifically at server hardware like an e5-2670 V1, but im pretty sketched out at dropping $200 on a processor from ebay. What happens if it doesn't work? How can I prove I didn't break it?

 

I've never bought used hardware so im not sure what the best places to look are.

It's kind of always risky buying used hardware though.

craigslist ... no guarantee people around you will have what you're looking for though

maybe amazon? i would think amazon is more trustworthy than ebay...

Classifieds I've only had one problem (like linus, anand etc)

 

was a 6800LE I bought to flash, it was dead on arrival (was UK) Royal Mail refunded for a 6800 ultra so I bought a GT win win.

 

Bought from US through classifieds and never had issues

I have bought 7 Cpus and 3 motherboards off eBay and had no problems. Plus most big retailers on eBay have a DOA warranty.

i would honestly just go and buy new hardware. old hardware is risky because there's honestly no way to tell how much milage a part has been through.

the difference between used and new on the e5-2670 is like $1500 per CPU VS $150 per CPU. I cant afford new.
