Don't use it.

Edit: If you don't have to.

If you can do what I said, then there is no need for that (btw. My gtx 770 doesn't even work, when i try to plug into 8 pin a 6->8 pin converter)

Edit: there are pins missing (what I mean by that is those 6 pins are just fitted in 8 pin connector, useless...), but can't snap pictures cuz away

Do it in a way that the cables are least "bended", if that makes sense...

System only posts if you i use the 8 pin converter and LEAVE the other 6pin empty. Doing that doesnt make the fans spin

Any idea why

It's just in case someone has a PSU that doesn't have enough PCI-E connectors, so the GPU manufacturer includes it. You shouldn't use it if already have the required PCI-E power connectors.

Oh, whoops.

Check that they are seated properly, what happens to me a lot is the extra two pin thing doesn't seat correctly so there is only a 6 pin power in the 8 pin slot.

Take a look at the picture below. See the 2 pin - it should "fit" (with those little tabs) to the 6 pin connector to create an 8 pin connector. Plug that into the 8 pin slot on the card. It will only go one way (check to see which side the clip is on on the cable and match that to the nub on the card connector). You may have to press with some force but you should hear it "click" into place. It needs to be properly seated all the way in. Just be careful to support the card while you're pressing the cable into the connector. Do the same for the 6 pin connector into the 6 pin slot. Again, note the orientation with the clip on the cable and the nub on the card connector.   ;)
