So I'm charging my phone using wall power and as usual I charge my phone and use it at the same time and everything is normally fine except it take a little longer to charging.

Usual time takes around 1:30hrs to charge to full maybe 2hrs to charge it full while using it. I left my phone on charge for 30mins and it only charged 18% without using it.

I thought nothing of it and used it while it charged (watching YouTube) and it slowly dropped from 57% to 50% still charging from the wall.

Phone is a Huawei P8 Lite (2ish months old) and using stock stuff to charge

Does anyone know what is going on and what I can do to fix this?

Thanks

Do you have any other devices you can plug into the adapter?

My phone is the only one in my family to use this USB connection. Everyone uses apple

The USB port on the adapter is universal. Apple devices include a similar adapter, though the capabilities may be different.

Stock adapter output 5V 1A

Okay. Then try connecting your phone directly to your PC and see if it charges.

Your issue can have two reasons:

- Charger is bad and deliver to less current. I can carge my phone with 4.5 volt and 10 mA. It takes foreve, nevertheless it allwas say it is charging.

- charging circuit or the battery itself on your phone is damaged (unlikely).

The apple chargers also have an usb port. You can use them and your cable to test.

how is your phone usage patterns?

are you running full brightness and speaker at max volume?

Youtube + Wifi + full brightness and speaker at max volume are battery drainers

Seeing this I have dropped my phone a whole lotta time whilst I've had it. Maybe this has done something to the internal battery?

Damaged electronics by dropping usually gives up completly. It's not getting slower. Also the battery is not very sensitive to mecanical shock.

Also most phones can opperate with no battery at all when wall power is used. It should not drain the battery when the charger can deliver 5 watt.

Could this be a cable issue?

When a data line is broken, the current will be limitted to 0,5 A what is still 2,5 watts. This should still be enougth. To test you can connect to smarphone to the PC. If you can transmitt data it's fine.
