Tried installing new ram

I tried installing new ram as it was a present. It is corsair 8gb 4x2 vengeance. After installing it and attempting to power on my PC, it just starts and stops after about 6 seconds where it turns off and shortly after powers itself back on. No video is showing on my monitor. Help!

specs of your computer? speed of ram?

Try reseating the RAM.

1600 speed. Specs are:

Carbide 240 case

R9 280 GPU

The new ram is 4x2 corsair vengeance

Mono is gigabyte ga z97n WiFi

CPU is Intel i5 4690k

1) If you have a spare PC try it in that.

2) Why have you got a kit of 4 ram modules when the motherboard only supports 2?

I'm sorry I meant 2x4 and no I have no other PC go test on.
