the Monoprice speakers have a nice upgrade path with their sub http://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=115&cp_id=11504&cs_id=1150401&p_id=605999&seq=1&format=2

and the AudioEngines have a good one too with theirs http://audioengineusa.com/Store/Subwoofers/S8B-Powered-Subwoofer

Just wanting to get thoughts on these 3 options from people who have used some of them. I know how the Klipsch sound as I've owned them years ago, but interested in knowing more about the Monoprice and AudioEngines, as well as any info on the subs for each.

Monoprice speakers are craptastic. Audioengine speakers are overpriced. Klipsch speakers are clolored (though some like them that way).

If you can actually spend this much, get the JBL LSR305 and don't bother budgeting for a sub.

I don't know man after listening to a lot of different speakers, I've come to conclusion that Klipsch is no longer a bright signature company. Their speakers distort quite quickly. I guess it's not noticeable if you aren't comparing to other brands.

Who said anything about them being bright? In any case, your comment is just another reason not to recommend them.
