GUI without workers

Hey guys, because I don't have access to Workers or any other form of multitasking methods available to web developers on javascript. I have to get creative with how I'm coding this thing I have in the works.

 

Essentially, I am trying to write a game with a GUI, however because I'm using a game engine that only supports javascript, I do not have access to the conventional methods other people are able to use.

 

How can I write my code so that I can run say a complex calculation while updating the screen at the same time?

My procrastination is the bane of my existence.

I make games and stuff in my spare time.
