Windows 8 gaming performance

Honeydiddle

Hello all,

So i have been considering going from win 7 to win 8 but have been told it is not better for gaming, i also hear there were compatibility issues and the quick start up is fake as when you go to do something it then loads all the other stuff.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

What would you all recommend?

Thanks in advance

windows 8 does boot up faster. i use an old HDD and it easely boots up in 30 sec instead of 1 minute with windows 7

some drivers are a little bit difficult to install, but after a few minutes of google it's solved

compatibillity with games is not a problem, everything works (so far i know)

Windows 8 does have compatibility issues with some games, particularly older games. There are a few select modern games too but those issues are rapidly getting fixed and aren't too much of an issue. It's difficult to bench game performance between different operating systems as they are typically too different to be comparable, but Windows 8 will see an average of 2 to five frams of better performance, not noticeable and some games run better on Windows 7. Most people will say don't upgrade, upgrade to Windows 8 on the next large system upgrade or building a new system because it won't make any difference in terms of gaming performance

SOME older games have issues. Not all.

1942 might work. I cant' check, as I don't have it.
