can i get sent to jail for putting money on someone elses credit card without their consent?

for credit card fraud?

Only if they pursue you legally/charge you.

 

But 

  • Credit Cards don't hold money,
  • Debit cards do

and banks don't generally require ID for deposits (people do it on other people's behalf all the time) only withdrawals.

I think the joke is on all you guys that responded, because now your all connected to whatever crime is about to be committed lmao.

That's not how the legal system works, telling someone whether or not something is a crime isn't against the law. What even gave you the idea that would be somehow punishable?

No, if live in the US.

When I was younger 14/15 I would ask my dad to buy something on his credit card and after I got paid I would write a check to his credit card for the amount charged, there was no fraud involved. Any credit card will accept a check from anyone as long as it has the account number on it you should be good.
