EVGA if you really need a 960 (cuda) , but i would strongly suggest a 380 or even a 380x

Sorry, I should have said that sadly I am not able to consider an AMD card. I am a software development student, currently working on a project involving CUDA GPGPU.

I'd say EVGA! Totally a good card! :)

So I'm looking at getting a GTX 960 4GB card but I'm not sure which brand to go with.

I've mainly been looking at:

Gigabyte's full length 4GB 960

EVGA's 960 SC ACX 2.0+ 4GB

MSI's 960 4GB Card

ASUS's 960 4GB Card

I'm open to any and all suggestions

Thanks in advance

The R9 380 can achieve higher average frame rates in most games, compared to a GTX 960.
But the GTX 960 will achieve higher minimum frame rates in most games. You'll see less FPS drops with a GTX 960.

A lot of people will also tell you, that a GTX 960 doesn't have the memory bandwith to use its 4GB of memory properly, which isn't true at all.

If that was a problem, we wouldn't see such consistend minimum frame rates with that chip.

Personally, I think the GTX 960 is a much better card, but I would still recommend you a R9 380, simply because I want that AMD sells more cards and because you will most likely not see the difference. Another reason is that the R9 380 is often cheaper than a GTX 960.

Anyways, if you still want to get a GTX 960, then I would buy the EVGA ACX 2.0 card, because of its cooler.
The fans have a 3 phase 6 slot motor design, which makes them very quiet.
