The OS usually takes up around 35GB-40GB with the updates and drivers so you should be fine. I'd check the SSD if it needs 10%-12% of free space in order to operate at optimal speeds due to the caching. Older SSD models to have this requirement while the newer ones - no so much. :)

Would an 80gb SSD be enough for windows 10 and some small apps like chrome?

Where'd you find a 80gb SSD? Most are at least 120gb

Yeah I'll be downloading things to my hard drive. Just need the SSD for OS boot up, music and things

i use a 64gb SSD for my windows and commonly used programs such as nvidia experience and MSI afterburner for example, works like a charm:
