750d Drive Mounting

DuhOracle
Go to solution Solved by W-L,

I want to get a 750d, and I'm curious about alternative drive mounting capabilities. I've seen some builds that are watercooled with radiators at the bottom, and hard drives installed on the chassis (I don't know where though, they just list it in the parts list). I was wondering where the drives could be put. I know of the SSD brackets below the 5.25" bay.

Thanks in advance

You can always install them on an adapter in the 5.25" bay or have a 2.5" HDD in the slide in mounts.

I figured that, but I was wondering if anyone had heard of any other ways to do it

There isn't that many places to put a 3.5" drive with a rad in the bottom of that case, I have a setup where I took out all the bays and HDD cages and place my single HDD on the bottom of my case in an aluminum enclosure. Only other place I could see it fitting really is removing a few of the 2.5" slide in mounts to modify a mount to hold a 3.5" drive there.

ive put a 3.5" hdd on my 5.25 bays, just lay down some bubblewrap/foam to prevent vibrations from passing, use double sided tape or whatever and its stable. I had to cut a bit of plastic from the 5.25 bay covers for the sata/power cables to fit but it all works just fine. i dont really move my case anyway.

As for ssds u can mount them anywhere with some tape

Hey there. You are looking mighty fine today, have my virtual cookie!

I don't exactly remember where, but I thought I saw some 750D build where they have the 3.5 drives mounted behind the mb tray.
