Thanks microsoft /s

Thanks for not installing updates when I shut down my PC, and requiring a restart.

Thanks for not telling me this was a big-ass update that took the majority of an hour (and that's on an SSD)

Thanks for setting Edge as my default browser without asking me

Thanks for removing CPU-Z and Speccy from my computer, again without asking me just because it "doesn't work" anymore. (It did though. And Speccy has a built in updater, so fuck you).

-End of rant.

But seriously, I like W10, I really do, but why you gotta be so rude? Don't change people's settings without asking. That's rude.

This is why I bought NSA10 Pro,  at least it lets me disable all of the annoying features through gpedit.msc.

EDIT: just to clarify, by NSA10 I mean Windows 10.

Windows 10 is like that solid seven you fancied back in high that turned out to be an utter bitch.

That came out way more superficial than I intended it to be.

My analogy was, "you were phased by the gimmick of it and ignored all the faults."

Windows 10 is intuitive as all hell at times, and I definitely won't be moving back to 7 (8 has no chance in hell) right away, if ever. I'll just moan and carry on using it, as you do. Saying that; of the five days I've used it on a fresh-install, It's been flawless.

So I can at least plan it? I'll let it update and then go eat or something. It's less disruptive that way.

It probably fucked up my drivers, too, ugh. Can't wait for the random reboots to begin again.

Not a lot of work, no. I still shouldn't have to do it though.

I should probably do a clean install as well. But I'm already complaining about an update that took almost an hour, so that isn't going to happen anytime soon.

Back on my old system I fresh-installed Windows 7 and then thought it'd be clever to upgrade; nope, memory leaks here, there, and everywhere else, for that matter. Reverting to Windows 7 kept it alive until now. I recently nicked that SSD and wiped it anyway.

Now that I think about it, I also have to clean-install on my MSI GP60 Leopard. It currently has Windows 8, which is basically a squared-off Windows 7, with no start button.

I know, it doesn't boot the PC to restart it though, so it's relatively pointless. I also don't need it to be on after updating. This is literally only good for mobile devices or for pc's that are pretty much always on.

I don't mind restarting real quick, but I'd like to know beforehand when it's going to take a while, that's not a lot to ask, is it?

It's very simple- because YOU allow them to be rude + M$ love to fuck users... If you don't believe me just read EULA...

Well, no, the EULA doesn't say anything about requiring restarts instead of shut down, for example. I'm complaining about design and "ease of use" choices, not about the fact that their EULA says they can store all my info in the background (which I don't have a problem with, btw, unless they lose it.)

It's just some little things that annoy me, not to mention the fact that setting edge as default could probably end up getting them another ant-trust case in the EU if they don't watch out with it.

Shutting down your PC doesn't turn it off unless you have turned fast startup off.

You should have known it was a big update. TH2 has been making tech news for a while now.

Resetting some of your defaults was reported to be a bug.

They removed that software to avoid potential conflicts with the update.

I own and use, sorted from newest to oldest: SteelSeries 6Gv2. Microsoft SideWinder X4. Mionix Naos 7000. Zowie EC1 Evo. Microsoft SideWinder X8. Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0. Dell U2414H. I used to own: Razer DeathAdder 3G. Razer Krait. IntelliMouse Optical 1.1. SteelSeries QcK.
