What sort of games do you think it would be used for?

This is a decent build and probably along the lines of what i would have done. You could probably go down slightly down on the hard drive if she does not store much, but even so its not that much of a price difference between a 500gb and a 1tb. If you wanted to you could go with an asus gtx 750 ti oc edition instead of the r9 370

The 370 is slightly beaten by the 950 but is better than the 750Ti. Plus, when they both cost the same...

@pyr0, this is about as good as you're going to get, and I would also be tempted to get an A88X motherboard (don't worry, they're not much more expensive) for better overclocking.

Depending on the game, does it have to be an R7 370? The 360 may do for games like Minecraft and Portal 2, but you will have to manage your expectations for more demanding games. The R7 360 is approx. £30 cheaper.

That may be the case, but if it's being used in games where that extra horsepower isn't necessary, like Minecraft, why spend the extra?

It may look shit in some games, but honestly, little kids don't really care. I built a PC for my 14-15 year old brother with a GTX 750 Ti and he doesn't give a shit about graphics, so the extra performance may even go unnoticed, especially when you consider the target audience for this build.

Well, basically, just an all rounder. I am hoping to build a console+

I pretty much ended up with the same list as TheRandomness

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/nBbDP6

The differences between the two are

PSU - Judging from reviews it looks like the be quiet! Power supply would be more reliable than EVGA at this price point

Motherboard - Slightly high end model that has a couple more features like front USB3 and 4 RAM slots. If you feel that these are not worth the extra cost then go with the cheaper board.

HDD - From personal experience I just feel like Seagate is the more reliable choice although it probably doesn't really matter.

Case - The Fractal case doesn't look so "gamery" and just looks like a regular PC case, it does come down to personally preference so I suggest you have a look at some other low end cases and see what you think will fit best. Also you should look up some reviews or unboxings to get an idea on how building with whatever case you choose will be like.

750 Ti is still 15% faster than a 360 :D

I still don't think you're understanding what I'm trying to get across.

Raw performance and what's 'better' means fuck all if the person using it won't care anyway, so why spend the extra?

In the UK, an XFX R7 360 is only £84! It'll get you through pretty much any F2P game like LoL or DOTA 2, or less demanding games like Minecraft or Portal 2. It'll be able to play AAA titles, but the settings will understandably need to be turned down.

@pyr0, depending on how old your sister is (and how finicky she might be), consider the R7 360 instead. When it comes to kids, it's not so much the graphical fidelity that will benefit them (they don't care most of the time), but the functionality that a PC provides, so the extra premium isn't really necessary. If you were using this yourself and you were half-way finicky about graphics, the R7 360 may not make the cut, so the GTX 750 Ti would BARELY make it (although, it is quite impressive in some games). The budget graphics card to go for in most cases is the R7 370, but the R7 360 would make sense in your scenario.

EDIT: I almost forgot, OP, have you considered a secondhand graphics card? I was able to pick up a GTX 760 not long ago for £70, so it's definitely worth having a look on Gumtree or eBay.
