Keep your cpu, change case and power supply and get a gtx 970/r9 390

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

Not much reason to get a mid range nvidia GPU right now

with the 390 vs the 970 you get 125% more VRAM, bit more performance overall, potentially better DX12/Vulkan support, but mostly you save money on free-sync vs G-sync for the future

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?
