probably some  performance per core shit. but then again it's what you use the CPU for. the amd will be better at rending stuff and the intel one you posted better at gaming

Can someone explain to me why a 4690k is better than a FX-8150 and which specification tells me this? I mean the 8150 has 8 cores and is 3.6 GHz. Sorry if this is stupid

i5: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646i54690k

8150: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-fd8150frgubox

It isn't true 8 cores.. it is 4 packages of 2 cores so they can't run independently.. That prolly is why :P

No reason to even consider an 8150 at that price point, the 8350 is only $130 on Jet.com

Well... The IPC of the 8150 is complete garbage (a la Phenom II), and the i5's is far superior. Not to mention the "8" cores aren't really cores, it's 4 modules split in two, and the two splits share resources (like hyperthreading). So on and so forth.

because the i5 is made by intel and the 8350 is made by AMD

so you cant determine performance by comparing specs

you need to look at real world benchmarks

and real world benchmarks prove the i5 performs better (except in some rendering/multithreaded tasks)

NEW PC build: Blank Heaven   minimalist white and black PC     Old S340 build log "White Heaven"        The "LIGHTCANON" flashlight build log        Project AntiRoll (prototype)        Custom speaker project

His statement would still hold true since the i5 does better than both of the AMD procs :)
