The only problem I have heard off was some bios problems that were present in the beginning, but as far as I know those have been ironed out.

By now you probably don't need a bios update, but if you have to update the bios don't use MSi Live Update.

MSI is not really known for it's problematic mobo's, every vendor has some, that's normal, but MSI is one of the best. Update it via USB directly into bios, not from windows, mobos get killed that way. As I don't know anything about this specific board, unfortunately I can't tell you anything about it. But you can update the bios without the CPU inside.

Logan from Tek Syndicate said that their GD80 had a voltage cap in the BIOS which prevented them from overclocking the 8350 past 4.5Ghz.
That's about the only bad thing I've heard about this board.
It's highly unlikely that you will need a BIOS update for the board to work on the 8350, especially now that the 8350 has been out for almost an entire year.

Im gonna get it with a 8320. I doubt that a hyper 212 which im gonna get will cool enough for over 4.5ghz.

You're quite right, then go ahead, I've done a build for a friend on this board & the board is top notch quality, was really a pleasure to work with.

Lol at this point just get an Intel CPU+mobo...

I5-4430 + H87-G43 and you are set with a much faster CPU, lower power requirement and all is fine and dandy for granted.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

A fx8320 is £98 a intel i5 4430 is about £145. Its £50 which i cant spare.

Add mobo to the cost and intel is cheaper.

So to balance it out you are recommending that i get a £50 or less motherboard as that will balance it out. Ive made my mind up about what i want to get

Sure. I'm only saying it's actually cheaper and offering better speed so why wouldnt you go for it? Except if you want to run SLI but then you need an expensive mobo (PCIE 3.0 x8 x2 at least) Haswell or a cheap Ivy Bridge. Want me to find a combo?

Sure, i5 for haswell and or ivy. I want to see what you come up with, please no asus and i have a sort of grudge against them at the moment.

You can't OC that processor at all (Haswell i5 in non-K version), but mobo is SLI/Crossfire ready (2x Pcie 3.0 x8 or 1x Pcie 3.0 x16 depending how many things you stick into slot).

---

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/129Wg

You can OC the processor (Haswell i5 in K version), mobo SLI/Crossfire ready like above.

---

What I would go for:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/h4UM

You can OC the processor a bit (Ivy Bridge lets for +4 multipliers above max turbo boost or so with non-K as opposed to Haswell non-K) with this mobo even tho it's non-K CPU, mobo SLI/Crossfire ready like above.

---

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/764O

You can OC the processor a whole lot, it's i5 in K version (Ivy Bridge), mobo SLI/Crossfire ready like above.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

Oh and if you want i7 badly you can get one, (Ivy Bridge so for LGA 1155 socket) - Xeon E3-1230v2 - it fits into all 1155 sockets that are compatible with Ivy Bridge CPUs and it costs around the same as i5 in K version but Xeon e3 cant be OCed at all (but has hyper threading) - altho, i heard you can OC this Xeon/i7 by BLCK (base clock).

BTW this is how you OC the non-K Ivy Bridge CPUs (like 3470):

We should also point out that the Core i5-3470 is not a K-SKU, meaning it is only partially unlocked. Overclocking is still possible, but the Core i5-3470’s maximum multiplier can be set to only four bins higher than its peak Turbo multiplier. Since the base clock is 100MHz and the Core i5-3470 has a peak Turbo frequency of 3.6GHz, its max stock Turbo multiplier is 36. Through overclocking, that multiplier can be increased to 40, for a peak Turbo frequency of 4.0GHz. Manipulating the base clock can also add a bit more juice, however, to the tune of an additional 5-7% in most cases.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?
