So I recently purchased R9 280x from the pc part shop here in our place for about $120. I wanted to test it and compare benchmark so I downloaded 3dmark.

Right when I clicked "Run" it froze at the same exact moment,.

Here I took photo with my smartphone..

I forced shutdown my PC because it never came back.

Please help me.

Yes I downloaded it from AMDs website. All my components are new.. I used the Dedicated GPU for just 1 day and bought this 280x card on sale.

Check for any updates for the drivers, if not, run other games on the card to see whether there is any artifacting whatsoever.

If there is artifacting, then RMA the card, if not then there is another problem somewhere else.

How will I know if there is artifacting? The best GPU I have used so far is HD 7750. I havent played any AAA games so maybe I cant tell the difference.

Well if there is flickering and white spots or things that seem irregular.

I dont have the Beta Version.. What's the difference? Beta means it's still on testing state right? Does the official release have problems?

I saw some benchmarks on R9 280x with Fire Strike. I just want to compare if I'll get a score near theirs.

Try again and see if it still freezes, if it still does maybe perhaps try testing with a different game / benchmark like unigine valley or something.

If those don't work either, maybe try a different driver or maybe something in your windows install is messed up.

Tried it again and froze again. :(

What are the possibilities that I got a bad card? This card only has 1 month warranty.

So far the only one I have here is Dota2. It seems to work. Well even the Dedicated GPU works with Dota2. I am currently downloading Unigine Heaven. I hope there's no problem in the card because it's a big hassle to return the card. And the shop where I bought this from seemed not so friendly.
