Posted December 13, 2015 Hi, I have an old PC i want to make it into a media server NAS, but I don't want to plug it into my router. Does it need to be physically attached to the router or can I use a NAS wirelessly in a cupboard somewhere? Posted December 13, 2015 well.. aside from a power cable, yeah, you can. you'll be limited by the speed of your house's wifi tho. Posted December 13, 2015 Wouldn't recommend wireless but I believe it is possible. If you have it wired your access speeds (Read and Write) will be better than having it wireless. If its ugly just slap it in a cardboard box with some air holes next to the router and write on it "Ultimate Golden Covered Diamond In-crusted 4K Gaming PC" Wow this was old as heck, Need to update this signature!
