Hey all,

I am looking at new mice, my RAT7 is introducing some wrist pain after a couple years. It also stops tracking a few times a week.

Before the RAT, I had a G500 (2009). I liked the form, but I liked the rubbery grip of the RAT. I have a claw grip, with a bit more palm than normal, and also tend to grab the sides of the mouse alot - so grippy, rubbery sides are great.

The G700s - unfortunately the guy at best buy was not helpful (I used one last night at my friends, but Im not sure if it was rubbery....really dude?), and I am not interpreting reviews properly. Does the G700s have a rubbery grip, or is it just heavily textured plastic? For example, the new 502 and 602 have rubbery sides. I loved the feeling of them. With my G500, if my hand was a bit dry, I felt like the mouse was going to fly out of my hand.

Any other $50-$100 wired (or wireless with wired ability) mice recommendations?

It's not rubbery, it's more like hockey tape, kind of a gritty surface.

It's not rubbery like a soft touch. Logitech doesn't really have a nice coating on any of their mice that I've tried; my Level 10 is a million times better in that department, my MX Master is just so so. I feel like it'll wear down a lot faster.

I strongly and whole heartedly recommend the Level 10/Level 10 Hybrid. If I could find a Level 10 Hybrid for a decent price I'd replace my MX Master.

Naw, normally I don't expect that. I actually like most of the guys at my local bestbuy - I've not seen this one before.

However, he decided to waste my time with a logitech sales pitch about how great logitech is as soon as I started to mention I really wanted to feel the grip surface. This included him saying he "just tried this model last night at my friends house and it's basically just like these other mice except better and you wont be disappointed!". But when I asked "so, it has this rubbery grip like this 602 on display" he starts to stammer, backtracks, and all of a sudden forgets how it felt. ::shrugs::

Thanks for the Level 10 recommendation, will look them up.

I have Logitech G700s and been own it for few years. :P

Now, I don't know the difference of textures, but it does feel like a rubber textureish. I might be wrong though.

I did looked up the G500 texture, and it does look similar to Logitech G700s rubber grip.
