Im workung on a project and i need 10 yellow leds, 3 200ohm resistors and some led mounting gromits.

Are these good purchases?

and they will do fine converting 5v down to 1.9~v for the led diodes? (I have done the math, i just dont want shitty components exploding in my face)

Probably. If your math is correct then yes. From my experience, they won't explode, the resistor and or the LED will smoke and the part will break. I've only had an IC blow up and launch itself into the air, no exploding with resistors or LED. Are you hooking this up with an arduino and a breadboard or something?

im just soldering it all up to indicate when my raspberry pi is getting power, and i have actually had LEDS explode... It flashed realy brigth and launced a leg...

Yes the math for that is correct and fine for those resistors of that size.

 

Incoming votlage of 5V , LED fwd voltage of 2V. 

5V-2V=3V

3V/0.015Amps= 200ohms
