EDIT: wait, maybe it's the backplate? Or do all XFX R9 390X's have backplates? On the more expensive one you see the back (thus the backplate) while on the other one you only have in front shots

No, that's not what I said at all. I said that it looks slightly better in the pictures, that the pictures that they are showing of it look nicer on the more expensive one.

I would get the one which has correct specs listed for a 390x, which is currently the cheaper one that has the correct specs listed in description.
