Unlock Help? iPhone 4s

I recently unlocked my 4s and I restored in iTunes and got the congratulations message. To test if this worked I got a t-mobile sim, it had no service but carrier settings popped up. Since my friend has an iPhone 4s too but on sprint I asked him if I can quickly put his SIM card into mine but it didn't work, I got no service on my phone but it worked fine on his. The 4s is a world phone that supports cdma and GSM bands so did my unlock work or is it just sprint?

it was locked to att the contract is over a year done, and I unlocked it through att.
