Hello, Im new to this forum so here is what I would like to know your thoughts on which PSU I should get for my rig;

1. Budget & Location

USD$2000 - 2800

Location : Malaysia

2. Aim

Gaming such as BF3 Crysis 3 World of Warcraft SC2 etc. 1 or 2 VMs

3. Monitors

Right now I'm using a Samsung 40" LED TV as my monitor. I might go for Tri monitor setup but it wont be on this year. I plan on using either 23" or 27" monitors later on

4. Peripherals

Just the CPU. I already have a mech keyboard, game pad and mouse.

5. Why are you upgrading?

My current system is still an i3-540 and I think it is time to upgrade my PC plus I want to try out watercooling.

Specs:

Original specs:

Intel Core i5-4670K

Corsair H100i

Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H

GeForce GTX 780

16GB Corsair Vengeance

120GB Samsung 840 Series SSD

1TB Western Digital Caviar Black

but I gave it some thought and changed it to this;

Intel Core i7-4770K

Corsair H100i

Gigabyte Sniper 5

GeForce GTX 780

16GB Corsair Vengeance/Dominator

120GB Samsung 840 Series SSD

1TB Western Digital Caviar Black Hard Drive

AX860i PSU

Color Scheme : Green / Black

Case : Corsair 900D [i already have this]

I can afford to change the AX860i to AX1200i, I know this would be overkill but I also plan to do SLI probably next year when the 780 is a bit cheaper and go for a full watercooled setup. Let me know your thoughts :)

I also plan to have around 7 HDDs and 2 SSDs later thats why I'm thinking of getting the 1200W one.

An ax760i is already enough for 2 watercooled 780's.

Edits: Get a Kraken x60 instead of the h100i if possible--more quiet.

The 4670k would do the job just fine. If you are using the i7, you might end up disabling hyperthreading just so the actual cores run better for WoW.

No need for a Caviar Black if you already have an ssd. A seagate barracuda would be cheaper and does the job just fine. If you really are a speed freak, put 2 barracudas in raid 0.

Dominator ram is a waste of money. Ram is ram and brand does not affect performance. Any CL9 1600 ram will do.
