PC in a Restart

How likely is ti that a CPU is dead? Desktop stuck in a restart loop. No post at all. Tried with one stick of ram and gpu, and just one stick of ram. Got to as bare as possible but with out excluding required parts. I plan on replacing the psu to see if it is that. (This system has only worked for 7 months) Is there any chance that the cpu is dead? (4690k)

Very unlikely. Clear the cmos by either using a jumper on your mobo, or jut remove the battery on your mobo for 30 sec. Then try to reboot

no it does not post. It use too then this morning it didnt turn on

It is probably the motherboard that is dead, if the CPU is dead it wouldn't turn on at all

but fans spin up then turn off in 45 seconds

Hard drive boots up for 45 seconds then shuts off too

yes i cleared it and it is still in a reboot loop

cant be a virus. Even if I disconnect the Hard drive the same issue occurs.

And what mobo do you have, be exact. Model number and brand

sadly i do not . The fans do start up, 3 case fans and a cpu, as well as a hard drive

OK yes it was, oddly enough . I'm visiting my girlfriend right now (it's her pc that was having this issue and we were troubleshooting over Skype). I took the desktop apart and unplugged all the psu cables and pluged them back in and boom issue fixed. I'm glad it's fixed she was worrying about what was wrong. Thanks for you help
