Windows 7 - Invalid .zip folder

Okay so i'm trying to put 3 files (2 Word documents and one Excel) into a .zip folder. The problem occurs when I then go to try and extract the folder, I'll get this error:

 

 

I just uninstalled WinRAR prior to doing this, but I can't see how that should affect creating them now as it was uninstalled without problems

I use 7zip and never had an issue. Maybe use that? ITS FREE!

while extracting, check the "extract even if there's error" option in the settings
