i7-4770k for $110 - any chance this can be real?

Go to solution Solved by Naeaes,

LOL. At least a famous unit. Featured all over the Internet and what not. :DHere's the source for the particular picture.

As in, don't do it, man!

Hello!

Now, I don't know much about CPUs, but I do know that $110 for i7-4770k is a suspiciously low amount. My fake sensors are tingling hard. What are the odds it is real?

Is it possible to verify its authenticity within 15 minutes (the time allowed for testing upon delivery)?

Somethings gotta be wrong with it or something.

It could be a different CPU with a 4770k IHS on it?

yes it's real, and yes it's possible to test it within 15 minutes

keep in mind that the chip probably got over over clocked and might not be able to hold a 4ghz oc anymore

Used or new?

You could pop it in a mobo and see what the BIOS says. Maybe run a benchmark to see if it performs like a 4770 should

It's from a Bulgarian site like eBay. It's used, without warranty.

What exactly should I look for in BIOS?

i believe you can check the serial number or something like that. ask for a clearer picture and go to intel website to check warranty and so. Might be able to check the manufactured date too.

If you can put it in your PC and run a cenabench and see a score similar to the other 4770ks then it's real, but you'd want to rub a stress test over night to see if it's stable.

It's the watermark from the review article this picture is ripped from. :)
