R9 270 X2 or upgrade?

Sid Manly

I want to move to the realm of single card.

Yet, I don't know what card is the absolute best for about 400 bucks.

I want to be able to play the division when it comes out and ramp to ultra.

Despite the recent system requirements that have been released, I do not

believe that they are going to be that low.

Please leave your comments and recommendations. I have been on red team

for years, but I do not have any opposition to moving over to green team.

I just got a Maximus VIII Hero, 16GDDR42400 ram and i7 6700K (not worried about bend-gate)

I would like a good card to accompany this, again, $400 is my soft limit.

You could also do 2x 290's...

Especially if power isn't a concern...

Will be about $450, but with a little overclocking, you'll get eh performance of 290x's

390X, maybe get GTX 980 if you want a "quiet" card. But performance over quietness anyday for me.

Xeon 1231 v3/ H81m - P33 / 8GB Corsair Vengeance/ GTX 950/ Fractal Design Core 1000.

The 390X is looking to be a decent option for me.

I was going to save up and opt for a 980Ti, but I'm just not sure about spending such a big chunk of bucks on a card.

390X is great for 1440P

I will be sticking with 1080p for the near future, but I could get a 1440p monitor, as they seem to be the "butter" zone.

If something can crank out 1440P, I'm sure it will throw 1080P around like a toy.

I would like to be able to play things like The Division when it releases. (please Ubisoft, dont much this up).

Battlefront and whatever super-intense titles come out. I tend to just get whatever looks fun.

yea then the 390X is a good GPU at the 400 price point

if any games need more GPU horsepower

you can upgrade to a better GPU later or throw another 390X for CrossFire
