If you're in the US, good luck finding any i7 or the 6600k at a decent price. Any that are decent will be back ordered.

i7 4790k because its cheaper, ram is cheaper. Performance does not out weigh the cost as of now.  or the i5 6600k for better upgradibility. But it really depends on what games you play. Games like Arma III will beneficent from a i7 but most other games will not. 

 

Also if you are planning on recording games and rendering out videos, than go for the i7. If not than the i5 will suit you well.

Yea... If you live in the US, I would highly recommend z97 over z170. Much more cost efficient.

Just don't put a NH D15/D14 or Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 3 on there and you'll be fine.

During shipping, with particular coolers... in fact this has never been reported for a non-prebuild computer, leading me to believe it is at least significantly in part due to incompetence by OEM's...

No. Skylake bends with people adding to much mounting force no matter the cooling type. To suggest it will bend less with a AIO is stupid.
