how is the 980ti classified for 1080p gaming 60hz? i have a GTX 760 now

overkill. get a 144hz or 1440p monitor for that card

You will throw money out of the window if you only do 1080p 60Hz.

 

It is better to save money and go for a 980 is perfect for a 1080p.

Quite overkill.

 

A 970 is enough for 1080p 60hz, you could easily run games at 1440p 60fps with a 980ti classified.

Not recommending this, but personally I run triple ultrawide 2560x1080's for my 980Ti.

 

I do agree with this conclusion however lol.

well i cant imagine framerates being good with that res. 7680x1080. i would take a 980ti for 144hz 1080p..

Because they come out in August - 16nm will bring quite a few improvements - when we moved from 40 to 28, a single 7970 was more powerful than 2 6970s in CF

But it would be 20% slower than a 1080 and likely 40% slower than a 1080 Ti for the same asking price give or take. Save your cash for that - or the Fury X2

RGB LEDs with controller boxes and custom wiring, and not heatlamps. xD

I live where 98% humidity is reality in addition to the 80+ Fahrenheit temp. Headlamps are unknown/banned in this region. More or less.

Wait - you have nothing to lose and much to gain - not to mention Nvidia are showing a habit of abandoning their older generations (Kepler now and Fermi before that) when a new one releases. You will get better drivers
