RSS is dead IMO only reason why anyone would use it is if you are limited to a internet bandwith limit or have such slow internet that it's impossible to use with normal day use.

I use RSS for a lot of things. I got a ton of news and review site in my RSS feed for example.

I also use RSS feeds to keep track of when new chapters of manga I read is released. Oh, and one of the most useful things I use RSS for is to automatically download new episodes of shows I follow. The download starts as soon as a new episode is uploaded, without me having to do anything.

I think you are grealy underestimating how useful RSS feeds can be.

Yes using RSS to keep up with Tech news, mod, ROM updates, new items and special offers in certain stores, and several other things. I use Feedly on PC since Google Reader was killed and GReader on Android, Feedly app is really good and well designed too but AFAIK it cannot download articles for offline reading and they both sync together anyway.

I've tried using a few of the apps that are supposed to have replaced RSS (Currents and Flipboard)  but they're not nearly as good and social websites are even worse, RSS is pretty awesome, it gives me all the information I want to keep up with in one place.

I'd definitely recommend using RSS Subscription Extension, it allows you to send RSS feeds for the website you're in to your news aggregator. You can even subscribe to a specific forum, YouTube channels, blogs etc, you'd be surprised how flexible it is.

I use it a ton! Have to admit the some of the readers (programs to gather all your RSS feeds) has gotten smaller and now use Thunderbird for RSS reading. RSS feeds are great and many companies still use it, its a great direct way of reading about the things that interest you without having to click on N number of websites, its all in one reader. ATOM was supposed to take over but it never really got as popular (I think or what I saw). Twitter is getting there but I hate the chatter twitter has, RSS feeds are more serious and to the point and less LOL's inserted or personal BS. If you want the personal or social aspect go to Twitter or other but just the facts then RSS.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.

Yes, Not as much as I used to. More to keep up with new episodes of shows. Today the stuff I'm reading has a lot more body to it so I just end up browsing the pages directly.
