Prodigy power supply thoughts

DarkEcho

This is by far the hardest choice I've been making for this build apart from getting the prodigy itself (it's almost the same size as my old mid tower haha  :P )

Well here are the units that I have been considering thus far:

(Unfortunately I can't find this for a decent price in the UK atm but this was my favourite choice)

Silverstone ST45SF-G  :  http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=342

Silverstone ST50F-P  :  http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=274

(not sure this is fully modular)

Seasonic M12II  :  http://www.seasonicusa.com/M12II.htm

The only one I can seem to find is the second silverstone one. Which seems okay but I'd like some opinions. I've never been really all that convinced about the different levels of 80 Plus, just seems like an excuse to add 1/3 to the price.

As a side-track I was wondering how effective a 520 seasonic fanless would be for an outrageous option, because the psu sits directly under the motherboard with some steel in between, the convection wouldn't go very well and you introduce problems. Wondered if anyone had experimented with fanless PSU's in the prodigy before.

I've built a prodigy build for my friend with the Seasonic M12II. It's a semi modular PSU, the 24pin and the 4+4 pin are already attached. If you don't like jamming a powersupply in till it fits, dont pick this one  :D (Awesome PSU though).

Good enough.
