Hello everyone, I am in the market for a new pair of speakers. I'm mainly looking for great sound quality and great bass. I've found several Logitech speakers but I'm curious to know if there's better for the price. I've been considering the Logitech Z906 which retails at $400 and has 500 watts. Would there be an alternative at a lower price or one that's just better? I'd like to keep it below $400. Thanks!

If all you're looking for is bass you can pick up a boxed kicker 12" comp, split and amp your center line or (run it to a receiver if digital) and get a decent 250w amp and wire a PSU to it.

There are also a few decent HT systems at that price point, some of which come with a ported 8-10inch, probably your best option.

Might be a little out of your price range, but I thought you might at least appreciate the amount of bass this guy has in his 2.1 system:

Personally I think that room would probably sound awful as there is way too much in there but you never know.

EDIT: for those unsure what they are looking at. this man has 16x 18" subwoofers installed in a permanent concrete and brick horn loaded enclose under his floor.

Google needs to work on the translation software for Italian in chrome; good thing I read about this in English years ago before I knew anything about audio...

Looks pretty nice, I'll probably end up buying that! I'm curious though, do you have to have an amp to use this sub? Or can I just plug it straight into my PC and use it?

If you're talking about the stereo solution, the sub has an amp in it, but those speakers need an amp. I have the little Lepai amp myself, and it's great.

If you're talking about the surround solution, there's also an amp in that sub, but it's designed to power the satellite speakers as well.

Corsair 2.1 2500's

I chose these over the overly bass heavy logitech's and comparing them to my brothers 5.1 expensive Logitech's, they are very nice.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

My setup:

1x Bose sound bar                --for teble

1x 1200W XXX subs w/ amp  --So my neighbors can hear the Bass

2x 400w DELL PSUs             --To power the amp

(i used to have 3 PSU's, but the bass dropped and one exploded)

Its fun in games like BF3, where if your heli takes a hit you (and the rest of the trailer park) knows it

I've read krk are bassy, and anything I've heard with a sub has been too bassy for me.

Will work for electronic components and parts
