What size and what resolution? This is killing me.

OK guys here is the problem.

At the moment I use an Acer 1080p 24 inch screen as my main display but want to upgrade.

Problem is I have a budget.

Do I go to 27 inch IPS with 1080p or a 25 inch IPS with 1440.  Oh these first world problems.

I do game but mainly use it for photo editing and watching movies.

The screens I am looking at are linked below.

Any other recommendations always helpful.

Thanks guys.

Nothing to see here - move along.

The measure is diagonal and I use a 23" screen and have never thought of it as small. It is up to you. I would say if you like the higher resolution then go 1440p 25". Personally, I'm still fine with 1080p so I'd probably try out the 27" screen (I've seen some before and it is pretty nice having a wide monitor).

I have a 27" 1440p monitor at work with 2 24" monitors flipped vertical on either side and i think 27" 1440p with a decent side monitor is perfect.

That said, I can't afford that same setup at home, so i have a 27" 1080p for my main monitor and a 22" 1080p for my side monitor and that feels like a pretty good setup too.

Either way, a 27" main monitor seems to be the perfect size as long as your running 1080p or higher.

1440 m8, just make sure you can actually run it, perhaps Xfire the 270x or get a 390

I plan on getting another 270x in the new year.

Sorry for being sad dude (in your opinion).

I sit very close so it's actually bigger than a 60 inch screen in the lounge if you factor in peripheral vision.

I'm only about 15 inches away.

Nothing to see here - move along.

If anyone knows a 1440p screen at  27 inch for the same price as the links I put in I would love to know.

I have a 32" 4k IPS Display because I like to game and edit photos like you. Photos job is nice in 4k but often I scale the OS to 1440 because it's just more of a pleasant (think squinting and mis-clicking). Bottom line, 1440 IPS photo editing on a larger screen (27 inch minimum) is a cozy all purpose use senario. If I was a gamer only i would be all over the 34" ultra wide displays. I run 3 different monitors already and don't have any more desks space. Yes, first world problems
