Do I have a few simple questions.

1. What's the difference between a lotes 1155 socket and a foxcon 1155 socket.

2. Can I replace a lotes socket with a foxcon socket, or do I have to find the same one when doing a BGA rework on a motherboard.

3. If you know where to buy a 1155 lotes socket base please tell me.

Pro Tip: don't use flash when taking pictures of your build; use a longer exposure instead. Prop up your camera with something (preferably a tripod) if necessary.

if you use retarded/autistic/etc to mean stupid please gtfo

There should be no difference. As long as they follow Intel's specifications, which they would need to do to be considered an LGA 1155 socket, then they will be completely interchangeable. The only deviance in socket design that I've heard of in recent history was Asus' modified LGA 2011v3, but that was a case of adding extra pins. Electrically speaking, everything else was identical.

Thank-you for the confirmation I just found the official Intel spec sheet and I guess they all follow that so I guess I will buy a foxcon then because that's the only ones on eBay.

I don't think there is a physical difference between the sockets. Foxconn (Hon Hai) has been making them for a long time, and I know Lotes has been too. There was some hoopla about the Foxconn sockets "exploding" at some point and everyone started shying away from them. Until it was proven that the Lotes sockets could fail just as spectacularly.

If you look at their product specs they're pretty much identical to Foxconn. I don't see a difference honestly, and I doubt there could be an electrical difference at all.

I'm going to get a foxcon off eBay and see if I can replace it with a heatgun and a soldering iron, if this works i'm going to be super happy.

Don't buy motherboards on eBay, unless the seller is super reputable and stated it's working in the description, then again it was only 40$ so I'm not that pissed.

EBay's protection policy has some loopholes turns out, it said untested but no visual flaws (seller must have been blind as a fucking bat to not see bent pins) in the description so I got Fucked.

Yes I tried going through PayPal and eBay.

Have you tried unbending the pins? Before you replace the socket you might as well give that a go.

Be sure to get some flux, wicking tape and a solder tip if you don't have any already. And some 99% alcohol would be advisable.

Although most BGA reworks require use of more specialized equipment than a simple heatgun and iron.

I did but one was so badly damaged it broke off, hence the need for a new socket as it's not a power delivery pin.

I made sure to do my research on the subject, yes I will be buying this as well.
