Has anyone tried or can anyone tell me if they are playing this game and what it is like.

 

A friend recommended it to me but ive played World of Warcraft in the past and found controls to be fidgety and the whole thing just boring.

It's very different from WOW. Completely different type of game.

 

It's completely free to play, so I'd recommend just downloading it and giving it a try. Though maybe watch some Youtube videos to see what you're getting into.

World Of Warships is nothing like World Of Warcraft mate. World Of Warcraft is a Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, where as Warships is a naval arcade game.

 

It's another cash cow developed by the Belarusan company Wargaming. I personally wouldn't touch it with a bargepole, unless you happen to be a big fan of naval warfare, naval ships etc.

Why are you hating it so much, I find it alright.

I played World Of Tanks, because i love my German panzers. But the game engine is horrid, the game is full of polaks/czechs, russian tanks are OP at high tier, and it becomes pay 2 win with HEAT ammo, and German panzers tend to be quite flat, thus get fucked over by people that spam HEAT.

Not really understanding all the butthurt/hate regarding World of Warships. It's fun, gameplay is refreshing and you get to rock out in badass WW1-2 ships. Similar system to Warthunder/WoT/WoWP with match systems and tiered ships.

 

You get destroyers that are stealthy torpedo boats that can hide in smoke. Fat, slow battleships that wreck face on everything they care to sneeze at (provided spread RNG is in your favour). Carriers that play like an RTS, controlling planes to drop bombs and torpedos on ships and cruisers that are all-rounders that generally excel at taking out pretty much everything. Each ship has a reasonable level of difficulty but, anyone can hop into one and (so long as you're not demented), do some hurt. It's free to play, give it a go, nothing lost if you don't like it.

I play it from time to time. If you don't mind a completely borked scale and rovk paper scissor gameplay, it is ok. I find it pretty fun. Like XCOM. You just unplug your brain and play.

Cruisers are my favourite class. Torpedoes and nice 8 inch guns. Win win :)
