Can a HDMI show you above 60 frames per second

HDMI 2.0 yes at 4k, HDMI 1.4 no at 4K.  At any lower resolution the answer is also yes.

I dont think so I think you need DVI or DP

It can display 2560x1600 and 2560x1440 at 60Hz.

Ok so I need a dvid or displayport to see above 60 fps at 1440p? 

I think you will need DisplayPort.
