HDD not displaying correct amount of storage

Go to solution Solved by Weak1ings,

Check the partition size as well.

Hi i just built a new gaming rig and included in my rig is a 500gb caviar Blue after finaly finishing installing and updating all my drivers and windows i noticed that it said that i had 90gb free of 294gb on my 500gb caviar blue can anyone help me fix this.

I do know that it is an actual 500gb drive and that i've not been riped off as i used it in my previous system.

Check the partition size as well.

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

What partitions have been set up according to Disk Management?

Hey there JaffaMan,

Could you post a screenshot of your Disk Management? I hope you fixed it and don't have problems with the drive anymore.
One note from me: since you are reusing an old drive it is highly recommended that you check the drive's health and see if it's still reliable to store your data. I would recommend using WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool and see if the drive passes both the quick and the extended tests. This should give you a pretty good idea if the drive is good or not.
