helllo,

My current pc specs are AMD x4 760k, Gigabyte GA-F2A55M-HD2 A55 motherboard, 8gb crucial 1600mhz ram, 2 tb HDD and a MSI R380 4GB. I have recently upgraded from my HD 7770 1GB to the R9 380, now im looking to upgraded my CPU and motherboard. I was thinking of upgrading to a i5 4690k and a Z97 board, but then i was wondering if it would be worth spending the extra money buying a 6600K and a Z170 board.

What do you think i should upgrade to and do you have anyother suggestions, budget is about £300-350.

I mainly play games such as Arma 2/3, DayZ, Rust, GTA and CS.

Thanks.

If you have money to burn, the 6600k. I'd personally just go with the i5 though. It's a case of diminishing returns with the 6600k while the i5 is a nice sweet spot.

"Normandy" i7 4790K - GTX 970 - Phantom 410 (Gun metal) - Z97 Extreme4 (asrock) - 128GB Crucial SSD - 1TB WD HDD - H60 Refurb. - 7 case fans | G710+ Keyboard, G230 Headset, Acer GN246HL Monitor.

Quick thoughts on system: I7 is extremely quick and I'm glad I spent the extra for hyper-threading. I regret my decision to get the GTX 970, it has horrible coil whine. There isn't any excuse for this terrible whine I and others are having. I HIGHLY recommend a 144hz monitor. Future Improvements/upgrades: Rubber fan mounts, basic speakers, more ram (for a total of 16gb), replace GPU.

144hz is love. 144hz is life. I like to submit unfinished posts then do about 20 edits. I like the Night Theme too.

helllo,

Should be fine with an i5 4460 and a low end board to save cash

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?
