So im gonna get the k70 but i cant decide between reds and browns, I do not have any stores that have cherry mx switches in my city so i can try them . From what i've read reds are for gaming and are quieter than browns (correct me if im wrong) and for me the sound is really important because i live in a small apartment and i dont want to wake my family at night with my typing. I've been using membrane keyboards forever and i just dont know how the tactile bump on browns would fell.

Thanks in advance !

Browns, Reds, and Blacks are all quiet switches, depending on how hard you press them and if you bottom them out like a lot of people do. There's no specific "gaming" switch, it's whatever people are comfortable with. I have Browns and the bump is nice and light, though definitely noticeable when gaming and typing. Reds in my opinion are too light, and just don't feel right. Best thing to do is try and test the switches before you buy. If you can of course.

What do they know of England, who only England know?

I have browns, the only thing I like about my keyboard. That said while the 'clicky-ness' of blues isn't present, I do tend to bottom them out and that makes a good amount of noise. O-rings can apparently help with that, but I haven't gotten around to looking for some.

Reds and browns are more or less the same thing, just reds don't have the slight tactile bump to them. Blacks are linear like reds, no bump, but stiffer and may not bottom out as often so that may be a good option for you.

Do you have any PC enthusiast friends? Being able to try a peripheral before you buy is a hugely beneficial thing. I wouldn't have the G.Skill keyboard and mouse right now if I could have tried them.
